a utah blizzard.

This morning I had no desire to look presentable before heading out to work. And on the way there, I drove the slowest I could, positive that the drivers who were passing me were annoyed. But last night, a blizzard hit! And it kept snowing and snowing all day today, and there was snow everywhere. And frankly, I'm terrified of driving in the snow. So slow I went.

Now I'm home, and I'm deciding if I should take down our Christmas tree (I know!) or make sugar cookies. I think I already know which one is going to win.

our new friends.

When Zac and I went to Ikea yesterday, we found these two little foxes in a bin, and decided to bring them home with us. Everyone, please meet Fantastic Mr. Fox and Ash.

Ash likes to watch Zac while he's doing homework.

And Mr. Fox likes to help and whisper the answers into Zac's ears.

Sometimes Mr. Fox will sit in the chair and enjoy a cup of coffee, while Ash climbs the Christmas tree and tries to sneak a candy cane.

One time, Mr. Fox was watching Animal Planet on the couch, and he got so excited that they were doing a feature on foxes and he managed to get himself stuck in between the cushions!

Mr. Fox likes to help me bake cookies every now and then, but doesn't listen to me when I ask him to be sanitary.

And afterward, when I do dishes, Ash likes to make sure the water temperature is just right.

Ash also likes to drink milk, and will sometimes guard it so Mr. Fox doesn't steal it.

So Mr. Fox helps himself to the crackers, instead.

And then checks his email.

After Ash takes a long bubble bath, he'll hop in the dryer for a few minutes to dry himself.

And then he and Mr. Fox will snuggle up and go to sleep for the night.

d is for drive & dinner date.

Our D date was spent driving almost an hour to West Valley City (but not before stopping at Ikea first, to get a few things... more on that later), and meeting up with my parents and Matt and Steph for a dinner date. After eating at Chili's, we went to a play at Hale Theater, a favorite of my dad's.

The play was alright, but the giant cookies they sell there was what topped off my night. Oh, and being with my family and my love.

On the drive home, we ran into some serious fog on the freeway. And of course, that's the only picture I took that night.

around our apartment.

This morning I practically pushed Zac out of the bed so he could get a head start on this weekend's load of homework. I followed him out thirty minutes later, and started on breakfast: eggs, bacon, and potatoes. Zac finished most of his homework, and left for class at 10:30.

While home alone, I started on the laundry, took my time getting ready, got mad at my blow dryer, and went to the store to buy a new one, and picked up some groceries for dinner tomorrow night. I got home just a minute before Zac did, and we had egg salad sandwiches for lunch.

Since then, he's been doing the rest of his homework, and I got so bored that I started taking pictures of the little things in my apartment today. I love the light in the back of my apartment. Not so much the front, though.

And that pillow on my couch? That's new, and I'm obsessed with it.

Now Zac's finished with his homework, so we're going to drive up to Salt Lake and see a play with my parents for our "D" date. Not a bad day.

mlk.

On Monday morning, I decided to have a small Martin Luther King, Jr. party, since it was his day, after all. I invited Erica and Rachel over for some MLK desserts, and Zac joined us for some girl time. We drank chocolate milk and ate oreo cookies, and then watched Napoleon Dynamite, because 1. Erica has been wanting to watch it for weeks, and 2. Kip is white and Lafawnduh is black, and there is no better way to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. than that.

life lately.

...

about us.

Hi! We're Megan and Zac, and you're reading our blog. Lovely, isn't it? We're just a couple of weirdos who love hanging out with each other.

We met at a Rock Band party while attending college in Orem in the Fall semester of 2010. We kissed before our first date. While dating, we made lots of scrumptious food, had a 4-way spooning session with our best friends and roommates, almost got attacked by a big, black dog in the mountains, and had a pie party complete with homemade t-shirts with clever pie drawings on them.

In January 2011, Zac took me up to Sundance and asked me to be his wife, after getting my best friend to convince me that it wasn't going to happen. I had nap hair that night. We prepared everything for the newlywed life, and got married on May 27, 2011 in the Salt Lake City temple. It was an unforgettable day, and we shared our first dance as husband and wife in the rain.

Since then, we've moved from our newlywed basement apartment in Provo to a more suitable living space in Orem, saw the Solar Eclipse in St. George, and have developed an impecable taste for cupcakes. While I'm finished with school and working full-time, Zac is finishing up the rest of his degree in Information Technology and working, too.

We're expecting our first child this November!

We like eating ice cream for dinner, playing Mario Kart into the wee hours of the night, perfecting our homemade pizza recipe, listening to records on our turn table, and walking to the mall in the warmer months. If our landlords would allow it, I would get a pet cat to play with and love on. I love to take pictures with my multiple cameras, and I'm learning how to sew. Zac is a fan of anything that involves technology, and plays video games in his free time.

Welcome to our blog!
