we are moving to a different land.

Well, mostly just 3 miles closer to work and school.

Next month, Zac and I will pack up our little Provo apartment and move to Orem over a weekend. Hopefully this move will only take a day or two (any helpers want to volunteer?).

There were a quite few things that really motivated us to move, and I'll get into the details of those later, but the top three are these:
  1. We need more space. This 500-square-foot apartment just isn't cutting it for us anymore.
  2. We don't like our upstairs neighbors. I'm almost positive they are drug dealers.
  3. Zoobies. We're in the middle of Provo. The Zoobies (and all the traffic that comes with it) are getting bad.

We're ecstatic to be starting this new chapter in our lives, and excited to live in a new apartment in a new town with new people and new surroundings. Did I mention I'm so ready for change? I think it'll be good, especially since Summer is coming right along with it (I have waited so long for you, Summer!).

I've got quite a few plans coming on with this new place, too. We'll see how they lay themselves out.

the river at riverwoods.

Zac and I met up at The Riverwoods last night for some fun. Mostly, we just bought soap at this store, and looked at really pretty (but really expensive) clothes at this store. Who knew I would like a Utah/Mormon surf shop?

Later on, because neither of us were hungry just yet, we found ourselves walking toward some gorgeous condominiums just north of the shops. Then we found ourselves thinking to each other, Why can't we live here? and Why can't every single house in Utah be as pretty as these?

Oh, and did I mention that there was a little river right outside these peoples' back doors? It was very cozy, quiet, and cute.

pictures of me and em.

Remember Christmas last year? That's the day Zac got me a few filters for my camera. Well, those filters sat in my camera bag for weeks. I had the best intention of getting them out, slapping them on my camera lens, and romping around town taking pictures of everything, but I didn't. Until now! Well, a few days ago.

On Tuesday, Emily and I met halfway between our houses, and took some pictures in the historical part of Lehi. Emily wanted to find some sort of field, but we found a closed-down Ream's store by chance.

It was a good day. Cloudy, windy, and cool. Plus, I was wearing my new yellow pants. What's better than that?

For some reason, Emily and I decided a long ago that serious faces looked cooler than posed smiles.

a candlelit dinner.

Zac and I love pizza. That's the first thing you should know if you read my blog. We love pizza, and we eat a lot of it.

The day after I met Zac, I made pizza for him (and his friends, and my friends, too!). I thought it was good back then, but I was surely mistaken. Since before we were married, Zac and I have made homemade pizza together. Over the months, we've been working at perfecting our pizzas. I think we almost have the crust down, so we are getting somewhere. I want to be at the point where I make every little thing on the pizza from scratch. I know I am very capable of it, now I just need the time.

Tonight, Zac and I decided to romance each other and have a candlelit pizza dinner, complete with sparkling apple cider in fancy wine glasses, and soft music playing on our record player. It was quite nice.

Have I ever mentioned that I love Zac's beard? He's quite dashing.

*Side note: the last time we used those fancy wine glasses was when we had hot dogs for dinner last summer. Please don't be fooled; we really aren't a fancy couple. We just like to fake it. :)

contemporary dance on a friday night.

Last night, Zac and I went on a date to see a contemporary dance performance for one of his classes. We had about 45 minutes to bum around before we could go in and snag our seats, so we sat in some comfy chairs on the second floor of the Student Center at UVU and contemplated whether or not we wanted to get ice cream. I finally gave in, and when we went downstairs to get some, the store was closed. So instead, we decided to find a comfy couch, eat tic tacs like candy (that was mostly me), and download free apps and play them while we waited for the doors to open.

When the dancing began, Zac and I smirked at each other. Have you ever seen anyone perform contemporary dance? It's kind of weird. Cool, but mostly weird. We sat through five dances, and almost left halfway through, but stuck it out. I enjoy dance, and was in a dance class for the majority of my childhood, but I must say, I am not a fan of this stuff.

When it was over, Zac and I booked it up the stairs to beat the crowd, got in the car, and drove straight to Kneaders for some of their chocolate truffle hot cocoa (the best I've ever had, hands down).

Then we came home and fell fast asleep. Well, I did, at least.

Today, I am an a quest to find yellow pants like these. I have been dying to have those babies in my closet! Wish me luck!
