This fourth of July was just a little better than last year's, but only because last year we got in a wreck the day before. In fact, now that I think about it, last year's fourth was actually kind of nice. It was spent being woken up by the parade just two blocks from our apartment, and that night, we went to Zac's grandma's house to light our own fireworks with all of Zac's cousins (who are hilarious, by the way, especially when fireworks are going off).
For this year's fourth, we actually went to the parade (only to leave an hour later... dang sunshine in our eyes), took a fourth of July nap, had my brother, Daniel, and his girlfriend, Erika, over for dinner (that Zac and I made ourselves that whole day, and I may or may not have stressed out about it a little too much), and also played Just Dance 3 with them!
That night, we went to the Stadium of Fire (we scored tickets for $5 a piece!), where the Beach Boys serenaded us in all their 70-year-old glory! It was their 50-year anniversary tour, after all! And you know what? For being in their 70's, I've got to admit, they've still got it! I was quite impressed.
Oh, and Ryan Innes played, too. I love Ryan Innes! So much so that he gets his own paragraph on this here blog post. Ryan Innes!!
The Stadium of Fire also has the best firework show in town. It was wonderful to watch all those lights in the sky from our seats, and even when we were walking the mile back to our car, because we accidentally left early.
Happy birthday, America! You put on a good party.
