fulkultur.

My old roommate, Erica, showed me this song when we were living with each other two years ago, and it was like the gods of music shined their light on me. No, really, it's awesome.

I don't think I've listened to this for at least a year, and then today I started humming it, and I was all, "How have I not been listening to this everyday?" It makes me want to dance.

In other news, our cute little downstairs neighbor girl who's about 4 years old said hi to me again when I came home from work. She was wearing a cowboy hat and boots, and she followed me up the stairs. She's adorable.

weekdays, according to me.

At 8:00 AM when Zac and I leave for work, we spot our 40-something-year-old, skinny-as-a-rail, almost-looks-like-a-pedophile neighbor who lives across from us take his trash out. Every morning, he looks inside the dumpster as if he's searching for things to take back with him.

At 9:15 AM, I eat a bag of pretzels. I think that's the one snack I will never get sick of.

Throughout the day, I think to myself about how annoying Jordan is, and how, as his supervisor, I have to remind him to actually work instead of browse the internet. I kind of dislike him a lot.

From 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, the two other people in my department take their lunch, and I get to be by myself (kind of). It's very nice. Annnd, I'm an introvert.

In the afternoon, I watch Ron drink 2 or 3 cans of Coke, and think it's gross.

Between 9:30 AM and 3:00 PM, I listen to my boss say something about how I dress like I live in the 80's, or how many colors I can combine into one outfit, or how bright my yellow pants are, and I secretly love it.

Throughout the day, I ask my boss a bazillion questions, and also tell him to finish his work. According to him, "I'm not your boss. We're a team, like BFF's." So me telling him to finish his work is okay.

On the dot at 3:30PM, I take my lunch break, and my boss thinks I'm weird because it's so late.

Every lunch break, I play Solitaire on my phone. And I think I'm actually getting pretty good!

When everyone is tired of work at around 4:30 PM, my boss sends me funny videos and pictures to pass the time.

At 6:00 PM, my shift ends, and I get in my car to pick Zac up from school, and at around 6:05 PM, I get to see my favorite face in the world after a long day. And then we go shopping for groceries, or go home and sleep or make dinner or play games with each other.

And that, my friends, is the best part of my weekdays.

the weekend.

Zac took me on a date last Friday. I finished reading The Help a month or two ago, and I've been wanting to go see the movie. Zac and I are complete dollar theater junkies. Why pay $8.00+ when you can wait a few weeks and see it for $1.00? So he waited until it came out at the dollar theater, and surprised me with it last Friday night. Not to mention that, before the movie, we went to Shopko and found everything we remembered about that store when we went with our moms when we were young teenagers (that store used to be like Walmart back in the day!), including bags of pistachios in bins in the aisles, the little corner of the electronic department, and even cow tails. Zac has been looking for cow tails for weeks. He used to like eating them when he was little, and we finally found them at good ol' Shopko!

When we got to our seats in the dollar theater, the movie was about the begin. We held hands for the majority of the time, and I was quite content watching the characters on the screen that I had read about weeks before. It was fantastic, especially since Zac was willing to watch it with me.

The next day, Saturday, we drove up to my hometown, Herriman, to help my brother, Matt, move. When he moved back from San Francisco about a year ago, he and his wife, Stephanie, and son, Aiden, moved into an apartment next to the high school in Herriman. Now they've gone and fond themselves a wonderful, huge, gorgeous house to live in, only a few miles from their apartment. Zac and I helped move things from the apartment to the car, and from the car to the new house. We helped carry things to their appropriate rooms, and we even got to ride in the Uhaul truck! It was a blast. Not to mention the free bagels.

In the process of moving, Daniel did a variety of weird things, which mostly involved laying on beds while posing like a model. It was awkward and funny. A few of my favorite places he found to lay were these: the 15-foot-high ledge in Matt's front room, Matt's queen-sized bed that Daniel set up in the bathroom, one of the six shelves in Matt's family room that frames the fireplace. Later in the day, I got to see Aiden. He's two, and loves me (most days). He calls me May-May. While trying to keep him entertained while Matt cleaned the carpet in his old apartment, all Aiden wanted to do was "jump!" which involves me picking up Aiden while he jumps, to make him jump high, and putting him back down so he can jump again. It goes by pretty fast--I bet one of his jumps is finished in about three seconds. He would grab and hand, lead me to the bathroom (because he liked to watch himself jump in the mirror) and say, "May-May, jump!"

After we helped move, Matt took us out (with my brother, Daniel, too) to Wingers. Matt, Daniel, and Zac orders the Endless Sticky Fingers. Daniel had the glorious plan of hiding a few sticky fingers in the popcorn bowl, which Matt stuck beside him under the table. For every plate of sticky fingers the waiter brought out, the three of them would add a few to their collection. The waiter was onto us, and said, "This is the most sticky fingers I've seen anybody eat!" It was pretty funny, and they had a stock pile of sticky fingers by the end of the meal.

Today, Zac and I went to church. There, we found out that our neighbor, Kristi, was sick. She and her husband, Scott, live in the other basement apartment of the house we're living in. When we found out, we offered to bring them some chili, since we had a whole crock pot full of it at home. I love serving, and hope to do more of it this month and throughout next year.

And since I have no other pictures of the events this weekend, except the two shameful ones of Daniel, please enjoy this picture of my old cat, Holy Santos. I LOVE this kitty.

By the way, did you know I'm a cat person?

Full moon.

Today, I was on a roll. I kept busy from 7:00 in the morning, when I woke up, until just about ten minutes ago, when I finished getting ready for bed. That's over sixteen hours. I feel great, because I got so much done today. Here's how it went:

7:00am: Woke up, took a shower.
7:20am: Got dressed, made lunch for Zac to take to work, finished getting ready for work.
8:05am: Left for work [late].
8:10am: Arrived at work, and did my priestly duties.
2:00pm: Got home from work, changed my clothes, and started cleaning the front room. (There were tons of stuff everywhere, mostly our wedding presents.)
3:00pm: Zac called.
3:05: Continued to put stuff away, organize, find places for everything, iron the table cloth, sweep the floor, do the dishes, hang frames up on the wall, vacuum, fold clothes, make the bed and clean the table.
4:45pm: Zac came home and gave me a long, tight hug.
5:00pm: Continued to put things away and finish everything up, and then went and helped Zac take all of our boxes to the dumpster on the other side of the house. (Our whole porch was occupied with said boxes. Can you say white trash?)
6:00pm: Started dinner: homemade fettucine alfredo, while Zac played Magic: The Gathering.
6:45pm: Ate dinner.
7:00pm: Our new neighbors, Kristi and Scott, came over and introduced themselves. (I'm really quite fond of them.)
7:30pm: Decided to make cookies (from a mix--I regret it) for the Bishopric when they came over.
8:30pm: Bishopric came over and chatted with us, and gave us advice. (I'll extrapolate later.)
9:00pm: Gave cookies to our new neighbors, mentioned above.
9:15pm: Went on a walk with Zac around the neighborhood, and ended up at a park playground.
10:30pm: Came home and got ready for bed.

You see?! My day was filled with never-ending tasks. I kind of liked it. I've never been so busy before, nor so... not bored. I have a goal of becoming more productive. I've always admired my friend, Celeste, because she isn't afraid to get out there and get things done. I've always wanted to have that kind of attitude, but was always too lazy or too scared to start things. But today, I started (and finished) things that I've been wanting and needing to do for a long time, and it felt so good!

My favorite part about today was the evening. The Bishopric coming over and visiting us, eating dinner and meeting our new neighbors, and spending the night outside with Zac.

While the Bishopric was over, the Executive Secretary (I can't remember his name--it was a weird one) gave us some advice. He said to get involved in the ward, because the more you get involved, the more people get involved in your life, and you are able to bless each others' lives, and make friends, too. Then Bishop suggested that we both keep up on our home teaching and visiting teaching, because "it's like Heavenly Father giving you two people to take care of, just for you." Cool. I'm going to like this ward.

When Zac and I escaped out of our house (after the Bishopric had left, of course) to go on our walk, we first ended up at a gazebo just two blocks from our apartment. We talked about how we like being married so far. Then I had the idea of going to a park and watching the full moon come up over the mountains. We walked four more blocks, and came to Maeser Park. We climbed up on the playground, and talked about things we used to do as kids. For example, I used to jump off our old fort into the snow in the winter, and walk to the local Maverik gas station with my sisters to buy an Icee or a bag of candy, and walk in circles on top of the humongous tractor tire in our old backyard until my feet were black. Zac used to go to his church parking lot and skate board there for hours on end, and go to Fast Gas gas station and get treats. It was fun to get to know Zac a little more, because I never knew that about him. I kept glancing towards the east mountains, but never saw the moon come up. It started to get chilly, so we left for home. The air on the walk home smelt like lilacs and pine trees, which was a lovely plus to a great stroll.

You might be wondering what our apartment looks like now that I've got it all organized and clean. Let me tell you this: at first, our bedroom was clean and our living room was a mess, but now, our living room is clean and our bedroom is a disaster. I will post pictures as soon as I get everything situated. And as soon as I can figure out why there are so many bugs in this house.
