a walk along the lake.

When we were getting ready to move a few months ago, one thing we were really excited about was that our house would be less than a mile from a walking trail that runs along the side of the lake. So a few weeks after we had moved (I'll post pictures of our house soon), we went on a walk up the trail.

Franz is at the stage right now where he loves to run everywhere. He needs to get his wiggles out every hour of every day. Walking up this trail was a dream for him. He was so excited. He kept pointing out leaves left over from last fall and his mittens kept falling off. I couldn't keep track on how many times he fell. Running everywhere you go comes with a cost.

These pictures don't do it justice, but the view was incredible, even on this overcast and cold day. I'm already dying to go back there.

On Sunday, in the early evening, we went up to Bridal Veil Falls and walked the trails there for a few miles. The weather was perfect up in those mountains, and we kept seeing ugly, black beetles. But it was so enjoyable, and put me in such a good mood. It felt like we were walking through a jungle, with all the sounds and birds and green everything. If I could, I'd go up there everyday and just walk and walk. 

We talked about our little baby, and how Zac would go up there to longboard before we even met, and about how stupid people were for not using the lines painted on the trail. And every now and then, we'd do some shakes because one of us would walk through a spider web.

a walk in the park.

We took a walk through Scera park today. And this sunshine that was going on today? Don't let it fool you. It was cold outside. And after a while, even Zac wanted to go back to the car where it was warm.

But I love that Spring is coming. There's hardly anymore snow outside, and the birds are coming back and singing their songs. It was nice to be outside today, and to share it with my Zac.

a sunday stroll.

Today after dinner, Zac and I took a walk around our neighborhood in the perfect early fall weather. Upon walking, we saw so many funny things, like kids running around on the roof of their house, and an old gentleman riding his three-wheeled bicycle. 

Orem's trees haven't quite changed for fall yet, but the weather is getting cooler and cooler by the day. On the way back to our apartment, I saw a front porch decked out in police tape, pumpkins, and hanging skeletons, all ready for Halloween. I can't believe tomorrow is October. Halloween is so soon, and I'm so ready for the holidays to begin.
