we're going on a road trip.

Today, as I was leaving work, I looked outside and saw big, gray, storm clouds up in the sky. It made the day look pretty chilly, and I was afraid that I'd have to tough it out on the cold walk to my car. But as I opened those doors, the weather was warm, and it made me happy. Not to mention that it smelt like flowers outside. It reminded me of Florida, when it's dark outside, and you think it's going to be freezing, but when you get outside, it's really 85 degrees and wonderful.

Tomorrow, Zac and I are packing up our car and heading down south sunny St. George, Utah to see the solar eclipse! It's a much needed vacation that we've been looking to for quite some time now (and, let's be honest, I kind of want to be a solar eclipse chaser).

We'll be gone the entire weekend, so you won't hear from us for a few days. But, if you'd like, you can follow me on Twitter. That's where I post where we are and what we're doing, and sometimes even pictures of us. So keep up with us while we're gone, and we'll see you when we get back!

PS... I have so many great plans (most of which involve food to eat) for our adventures down in St. George. I'm way too excited for this. Stay tuned for pictures to come!

happy mother's day.

To my mom, who raised me and taught me everything she knows, and continues to do so. Who was and still is always more than happy to help me with anything I need help with, even if I don't ask for it. Who raised seven kids, and home schooled most of them for years, so they would learn that God is the center of everything good. Who has set an example for me throughout my entire life, and has given me someone to look up to, so I know what I want to be: faithful, happy, obedient, selfless, silly, hardworking, devout, giving, and patient. Thank you, mom, for giving me everything. I love you very, very much, and I hope my kids think of me what I think of you now.

And to my mother-in-law, thank you for raising such a great man who I am married to now. Thank you for supporting us throughout our marriage, and for giving of yourself so freely and lovingly. I sure do love you, Jill!

Happy Mother's Day to all the gorgeous women out there!

a picnic in the park.

Today is Saturday. Zac and I have the entire day off on Saturdays, so we like to be with each other and do fun things. This afternoon we decided to pack up a feast of a lunch and head to the beautiful Scera park to have a picnic.

We sat there on one blanket, Zac in the shade, and me in the sun, and ate until our stomachs were stuffed, and then took a quick, little nap in the sunshine. When we woke up, we played a few card games, ate the rest of our snacks, and drove home.

What I love more than Saturdays spent with my sweetheart are bright, sunny, and warm Saturdays spent with my sweetheart. It's days like these that make it hard to go indoors.

rooftop concert.

Have you ever watched people play music on the very top level of a parking garage? Zac and I did last weekend. One of the reasons why I love living near Provo is that they do cool things like this, all summer long.

That night, we heard Ryan Innes play. Peter Breinholt played, too, but we left before he went on, because it was freezing. I know I'll regret that later.

Zac and I decided that we need to buy Ryan Innes's album to put on our road trip mix, since we are leaving in less than a week. He's that good.

my husband's birthday.

Don't mind the blurriness. It was dark.

Last month on the 27th, Zac turned 24 years old. We both spent eight hours of the day working (boo), but later in the evening, when we were together, we did some partying.

Our partying consisted of going out to eat to Texas Roadhouse with his parents, and going to Walmart to look at things Zac wanted for his presents (but, oddly enough, didn't buy any of them). We ended up buying huge bags of peanut butter M&M's, and Reese's peanut butter cups. If anyone can have an unhealthy obsession with chocolate and peanut butter, it's this guy.
Later, when we got home, we ate this chocolate cake I had made earlier in the day, and let me tell you, it was the best chocolate cake I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Oh, and Zac liked it, too.

Both of our birthdays this year have been quite laid back. It was nice to relax, but next year, we're going to party!

Happy [late] birthday, my love! I'm sure glad you're in my life.

lazy saturday.

Today, on this fine April Saturday, we find ourselves still in bed, even though it's just after 4:00 in the afternoon.

This morning, Zac woke up with a sore neck. We had plans to make a dessert, be outside in the nice Spring sun, and later on, go out to eat with my parents. Instead, we spent the day in bed watching movies, sleeping, and eating leftover pizza. I can't complain, though. It's been quite nice having a day where I have to do absolutely nothing. So nothing we will do!

Happy weekend! Let's hope that this poor boy will get better.

hello, orem.

Well, we did it! We made the big move back to Orem, the town where Zac and I met, dated, and fell in love.

Last Thursday evening, a few members of our families met up with us and helped us move out every single thing we had in our little Provo apartment in one night--just a few hours!

It was so much fun to work with my siblings (they can be kind of obnoxious at times, which makes things quite fun). It was especially nice to have everyone come out and help us. Lyle, Mike, Mom, Matt, Steph, Aiden, Daniel, and Rach, we couldn't have done it without you. :)

That night, we went to bed exhausted, with boxes and boxes piled high in every room. Over the next few days, we unpacked over half of the boxes, and got our bedroom, living room, and kitchen set up (for the most part). On Saturday, Zac and I took a break and ran over to the Dollar Store for a few things, one of which happened to be Wyler's Cool Raspberry Ice Pops. Eight of those babies for only a dollar? That's my kind of ice pop.
